The number of Beatle tribute albums possibly outnumber the band's own output by now.
While this track-by-track, mostly American indie-rock, 40th anniversary salute to the Fabs' pivotal Rubber Soul might be an intriguing, if unoriginal, concept, too many tracks sound like warmed over B-sides from folks who don't like the original songs enough to leave them well alone.
Among the worst offenders - The Fiery Furnaces taking a match to Norwegian Wood and The Donnas sounding like they can't quite reach the accelerator on Drive My Car.
