The Marine Industry Association of New Zealand (MIA) has relocated its offices to 79 Westhaven Drive, Westhaven, Auckland.
The association's "new" premises
previously housed the Harbour Masters office and Westend Rowing Club. The
building is on the Westhaven Marina foreshore and it has plenty of parking outside the door. The MIA's phone, fax and postal details, and those of its subsidiary, the Boating Industry Training Organisation, remain unchanged. The MIA reception desk can be reached by phoning 0800 600 242 or (09) 360 0056.
Miller Moyes seacraft expands
Miller Moyes Seacraft, the one-stop Haines Hunter shop in Cawley St, Ellerslie, has diversified by adding the Senator brand of aluminium boats to its retail range. Lionel Sands, co-director, says stocking the Senator range will provide customers a greater choice, between fibreglass and aluminium construction and in design style and engine size. Miller Moyes Seacraft will focus on marketing Senator's pontoon designs which are available in cuddy cabin and hardtop configurations. The outboard models in the cuddy cabin series are between 4.4m and 5.6m long and they provide a choice of five boats that can be powered by engines in the 40 to 115hp range.
Senator's hardtop pontoon models (5.6m-7.5m length) and the Haines Hunter range have recommended horsepower ratings of 115hp and upwards. Miller Moyes Seacraft is already one of Yamaha's top performing dealers and the opportunity to increase sales of smaller engines will reinforce their strong showing in the upper horsepower range.
