Aside from how invigorated the Stones were on their 40th anniversary tour last year, the most interesting thing was the set list. Every night they'd throw in songs they had hauled out of an old scrapbook or which they'd never played live.
So the inevitable double-live album was always going to have some unusual inclusions, and Live Licks doesn't disappoint: Paint It Black, You Can't Always Get What You Want, Neighbours, Monkey Man, Rocks Off, Can't You Hear Me Knocking, Otis Redding's That's How Strong My Love Is and Solomon Burke's Everybody Needs Somebody to Love (which they covered four decades ago). And more.
Of course the inevitable are there too: Brown Sugar, Street Fighting Man, Start Me Up, Satisfaction and so on - but no Sympathy for the Devil.
Bet you never thought you'd hear Keith do The Nearness of You, huh? Bet you won't want to twice.
