It's not - be warned - the new Flaming Lips album but a collection of other folks' tunes that the Midwest psychedelic heroes have selected for this series. Though it does come with a fan bonus - the band's cover of the White Stripes' Seven Nation Army, which certainly marches to its own drum. Elsewhere it mood-swings tracks by contemporaries (Radiohead, the Chemical Brothers, Bjork) and seemingly incongruous songs of a certain vintage, whether it's Miles Davis My Ship, the Psychedelic Furs' Sleep Comes Down or the possibly Lips-influential 10CC classic I'm Not In Love. It's a compilation that sure ticks a lot of boxes, but it just sits there being eclectic rather than making something of itself.
