Fenella Becroft graduated four years ago with law and arts degrees. She became a barrister two years ago and has for the past 18 months been splitting her time between court and working in the oh-so-cool High St clothing store Fabric. She's hoping to open a women's concept and fashion shop in Auckland.
Who are your favourite fashion designers?
Marc Jacobs, Clements Ribeiro and Rei Kawakubo.
What do your wear to work?
For a while I tried the quick between-job outfit change, but it didn't really work for me, so I dress the same for both jobs, and get lots of comments in court regarding my comparatively festive attire.
Who is your inspiration?
I have to admit that I don't get inspired by an awful lot. I admire people who are doing what they love, whatever it might be.
Favourite accessory?
My Prada brooch. Never have I flogged an accessory so much.
Failsafe look?
A beautiful beaded Matthew Williamson skirt and a cardy. In fact, rarely am I seen without a cardy.
Any fashion disasters?
There are probably many, but they only really become true disasters in retrospect. I went through a very big Madonna phase when I was about 10 - it was not me at my best.
What do you wear relaxing at home?
A Juicy Couture tracksuit. I swore I would never wear velour (and again it's not me at my best), but it's only at home and is so comfortable.
Last item of clothes purchased?
A Junya Watanabe tweed and fur jacket. People keep asking me if I'm really hot when I wear it, but I can't wait until next winter.
Beauty routine?
I'm dedicated to a serious cleansing regime. I use really amazing face products by a French company called Phytomer, and I can't live without Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream.
