After last year's awful covers album, the dapper elder statesman of Britrock delivers an album of originals that matches the best of his 90s solo career in its mix of Mod-pop and soul-fired rock, as well as echoing his former selves.
Weller sounds very much the snarling Jam frontman again on the strident Come On Let's Go and From the Floorboards Up while the jazzy, groovy likes of I Wanna Make It Alright and Fly Little Bird are enough to get him re-elected to the Style Council.
