A producer of the Oscar-winning movie Chicago has filed a US$10 million ($16.22 million) lawsuit, charging that Miramax Films failed to pay the producer its share of the hundreds of millions of dollars the movie earned.
The Producer Circle Co says in its lawsuit that it is the owner of the film rights to the musical Chicago, a Broadway hit of the 1970s that Miramax agreed to produce with the company as a movie, and that it was to receive part of the film's profits.
