Debut solo excursion from frontman of Aussie outfit Powderfinger shows him as a solid, acoustic-powered singer-songwriter. This 14-song set is big on bare-bones ballads and rootsy rockers of a decidedly bluesy bent. Song-wise some sound like Powderfinger blueprints, but on the likes of Wash Me Clean Fanning makes a fine folkie, while The Strangest Thing suggests him as a long-lost Finn brother.
