Mama is something of a puzzle to SPCA animal attendant Tarryn Prinsloo.
The 5-year-old black-and-brindle staffordshire cross has a wonderful personality but she's been at the SPCA's animal village since November 16.
Mama was surrendered at Waitakere Animal Welfare and was sent to the SPCA as she was considered an ideal candidate for re-homing.
She is very affectionate and even knows the basic command, "sit", "stay" and, most importantly, "down". Her village number is 86277.
* The two guinea pigs featured in the Herald last Wednesday have been taken in to a new home in Glen Eden.
* Every day over the holidays the Herald is featuring a pet that needs an owner. To help, call the SPCA on (09) 256-7300 and quote its village number.
