Pride, the fluffy black and white male cat, is not used to the sleeping mats at the SPCA's Animal Village in Mangere.
He's much more used to couches and beds.
But he had to be surrendered to the SPCA by his owners because they were moving house and couldn't take him with them.
He's used to dogs and children because he shared his last home with them.
And so he'll be fine with other cats too, says feline attendant Liza Arnold.
Miss Arnold describes him as friendly and independent.
Pride's village number is 68809.
