Sammy knows he's a good-looking cat.
The two-year-old black male Burmese-cross is also extremely friendly, says Nicole Rushbrook, senior feline attendant at the SPCA Animal Village in Mangere.
Sammy was given to the SPCA on December 17.
"The people were moving house and they cannot have cats where they are going. That's quite common," said Miss Rushbrook.
Sammy needs a home, as do many of the other cats at the SPCA.
"We're getting over 100 cats in here a week," Miss Rushbrook said.
The Burmese streak in Sammy would make him a good family pet, she said.
The Burmese are described as a "personality-plus" cat with a sunny nature and unflappable disposition.
Says Petnet.com.au: "A happy-go-lucky tomboy of a cat, it retains its kittenish curiosity and playfulness throughout its life, thereby making it an ideal children's playmate."
