Breaks Co-Op have found a fan in Elton John - proof the band's cruisy brand of music is not strictly for New Zealand audiences.
Elton called the band last week to say they were his favourite new band. That's kudos because Elton doesn't tout just anyone. In the past he's given his blessing to the camp pop act the Scissor Sisters, singer/songwriter Ron Sexsmith and our own Bic Runga.
At the end of this month Breaks Co-Op go on a headlining tour of Britain and the single A Place For You comes out there next month.
But wait, there's more. The lads are making a move on to the dancefloor courtesy of British dub/electronica act Atlantic Conveyor, who have done an Ibiza remix of Duet.
In the United States, the Gap chain is including Breaks Co-op on its instore playlist.
Elton gives Breaks Co-Op the thumbs up
