Drum 'n' classic

If you like a little bit of drum'n'bass with your classical music, Christchurch outfit Shapeshifter play with the Auckland Philharmonia as part of a nationwide tour to celebrate the release of their album, Soulstice, on August 28. They team up with the orchestra at the St James on September 16.

Sam Flynn Scott, from the Phoenix Foundation, plays songs from his solo album The Hunt Brings Us Life at the Dogs Bollix in Auckland, August 25, and at the Leigh Sawmill August 26.

And 99 local bands have signed up to compete in the World Battle of the Bands which started at the Kings Arms last night.
