It was the humans doing the sitting yesterday while their dogs strutted the catwalk at the Auckland Pride Dog Show.
More than 50 glammed-up pooches paraded around Ponsonby's Western Park to be judged by three local celebrity judges, broadcaster Ali Mau, Shortland Street's Lucy Elliot and cabaret performer Taro Patch. Categories included best dressed, biggest dog, smallest dog, best talent/tricks and best in show.
More than 250 people showed up to the event, part of the Auckland Pride Festival which continues until February 21, the day after the Pride Parade on Ponsonby Rd.
The celebration of the rainbow community is now in its fifth year and has become a staple on Auckland's events calendar.
