You're in for a slice of heaven when Dave Dobbyn teams up with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra for a concert next month. Other prominent New Zealand acts like Bic Runga, Goldenhorse and Greg Johnson played with orchestras in the past, and now it's the turn of one of our best songwriters.
Songs ranging from Th' Dudes' Be Mine Tonight, through to Slice Of Heaven and Loyal, to last year's Welcome Home, which won Dobbyn songwriter of the year, will be arranged for a full orchestra by composer Tom Rainey.
All we can think about is how the orchestral version of Walking In Light will go.
Dave Dobbyn and the APO play on August 12 at the Aotea Centre, 8pm. Tickets from Ticketek on 09 307 5139
