Tickets for two concerts by U2 in Dublin have been snapped up within minutes creating an Irish box-office record. The bulk of more than 150,000 tickets, available for A$100 ($109) to A$135 ($148) each, were sold on the vendors' website. Within 50 minutes, the tickets were gone.
U2, formed in Dublin in 1979, is to play Dublin's Croke Park stadium on June 24 and 25 in the middle of the planned Vertigo tour, which starts March 28 in San Diego and ends in Lisbon on August 14.
