DiCaprio to star in Ludlum thriller

Leonardo DiCaprio is to star in a new movie based on the Robert Ludlum political thriller The Chancellor Manuscript, Variety reports.

DiCaprio will play Peter Chancellor, the writer of a fictional novel about Washington powerbrokers who are blackmailed into altering US policies.

When some real political operatives read the manuscripts, they fear he has uncovered their schemes and hunt the author down.
