Actor Leonardo DiCaprio is in talks to star in a new adaptation of Ernest Hemingway's novel For Whom the Bell Tolls, says Hollywood trade newspaper Variety.
The report said DiCaprio is interested in playing Robert Jordan, the young American teacher who joins an anti-fascist guerrilla unit in the mountains of Spain during the Spanish Civil War.
The movie is being written by Troy screenwriter David Benioff.
