Actor Johnny Depp, star of Pirates of the Caribbean, has crossed swords with city officials over a proposed Sunset Strip commercial development he says would block the view from part of his Hollywood Hills estate.
Depp's legal action says that by approving the development, which includes shops, the city of West Hollywood violated environmental quality laws.
He says the project would block the view his two children have while playing on the terrace outside his home.
In the past Depp had said that Lily-Rose, 6, and Jack, 4, would be raised in France, where he and French actress and singer Vanessa Paradis also have another home.
