LONDON - Acclaimed actor Robert de Niro is the latest Hollywood star to set up home in the British capital.
The star of such gritty American movies as Taxi Driver and GoodFellas will shortly be moving into a £3.25 million ($11.5 million) luxury penthouse flat overlooking the River Thames.
Split between two floors, the suite has 325 sq m of floor space as well as a private landscaped garden. The flat was owned by world heavyweight boxing champion Lennox Lewis, though he never used it.
De Niro has been looking for a London pied a terre while he produces the movie About the Boy in the city.
His new apartment is in a residential block which also houses a five-star hotel and a health club.
De Niro follows Madonna, Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise and the late director Stanley Kubrick, all of whom have set up home in London.
