Danner and Bacall honoured

Actors Lauren Bacall and Blythe Danner have received inaugural awards from a Philadelphia college's new centre honouring the independent spirit of the late Katharine Hepburn.

Bryn Mawr College launched its Katherine Houghton Hepburn Centre with a black-tie gala.

The centre seeks to honour the life and works of Hepburn and her suffragist mother, Katharine Houghton Hepburn - both alumnae of Bryn Mawr - and inspire women to follow in their footsteps.
