A small weekly current affairs and news based programme screening in Auckland will soon been given a prime time slot.
Darpan-The Mirror, which tackles issues affecting the diverse population sectors in the Auckland region, will screen on Triangle TV at 7.30pm on Fridays from September 1.
The show started a year ago on a shoe-string budget and producer/director Syed Akbar Kamal said the show aims to deal with important local and national issues that are unable to be found in mainstream media.
He said "the sustained quality content" of the programme and the relentless efforts of the team had led to the show's success.
NZ on Air partially funds the programme and Mr Kamal says it is the first time this has happened for an independent programme provider on Triangle TV.
