Tom Cruise has regained his crown, says Forbes magazine, which ranks him number one on its list of the 100 most powerful celebrities.
Earnings of NZ$110 million from The War of the Worlds and prolific publicity surrounding his romance with actress Katie Holmes helped secure Cruise the top spot that he last held in 2001.
The Rolling Stones are number two.
