Kiwi actor Russell Crowe, angry at media reports about his infamous telephone throwing incident, has revealed he is considering quitting Hollywood if he is found guilty on charges.
Crowe, 41, was arrested on July 5 for allegedly assaulting an employee of the Mercer Hotel in Manhattan where he was staying. Around 4.20am the actor got into a fight with one of the employees, Nestor Estrada, and threw a phone into the man's face, causing him physical injuries.
Crowe was charged with second-degree assault and, if convicted, he could lose his right to work in the United States and face up to seven years in prison.
Crowe said he was seriously thinking about quitting Hollywood after the way he was treated regarding the alleged incident.
He told British newspaper the Daily Mirror: "Maybe it's better I don't travel to America. Maybe it's better I don't work in the area of the business that attracts so many flies.
"You tell me to piss off too many times and I probably will."
