Coronation Street fans won't have to change the channel after Television New Zealand and Granada International agreed a deal that will keep the long-running soap on TV One. There had been speculation Coronation Street was being courted by other channels in New Zealand.
As part of the new deal, described in a TVNZ statement as a renewal of programming, other Granada shows including William And Mary, Prime Suspect, Life Begins and Rosemary & Thyme will also remain on TV One.
"TV One has long been the home of Coronation Street and numerous other successful Granada programmes. We are delighted to be able continue with our commitment to viewers to provide some of the best international product available," said Annemarie Duff, TVNZ general manager of programming.
