Complex attraction for Weaving

Weaving said the complex nature of his character Lionel, is what attracted him to the part: "He is an ex-rugby league player and a long-term heroin user and he is gay and he is a bit messed up and he is a bit of a rogue and he is in a bit of a mess really."
