Coldplay hot in US chart

Coldplay became the first British band since the Beatles to score a single debut in the US top 10 songs on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.

Their single Speed of Sound opened at No 8 on the chart.

The Beatles' Hey Jude, Get Back and Free As a Bird all debuted at No 10. Their Let It Be opened at No 6.
