Singer Chris Cornell has sued his ex-wife, claiming she conspired to divert money owed to him to other members of the band, failed to act in his best interests and refused to return his journals, music sheets and two Grammy awards.
The lawsuit alleges Cornell's ex-wife Susan Silver, who also was the band's former manager, desired to harm him after their 12-year marriage ended in October 2002. The lawsuit claims Silver acted with "fraud, oppression and malice", emanating "at least in part from the dissolution of their personal relationship, and her incentive to further her career by maximising the interests of other Soundgarden members".
