Oscar winner Tilda Swinton has been named the new face of Chanel just days before the company's much-anticipated Paris Fashion Week show next week.
The British actress will front the brand's pre-autumn ad campaign for the Metiers d'Art Paris-Edimbourg collection, which was shot by designer and photographer Karl Lagerfeld.
Lagerfeld insists his latest muse was a pleasure to work with, explaining, "Tilda perfectly embodies the Paris-Edimbourg collection... She is a modern woman, a timeless icon of elegance.''
The news comes a day after the online release of David Bowie's new video The Stars (Are Out Tonight), which features Swinton as the rocker's unstable wife.
