A Central Otago Pinot Noir has taken the top award at the Air New Zealand Wine Awards.
The Grasshopper Rock Central Otago Earnscleugh Vineyard Pinot Noir 2010 was awarded the Champion of Champion Wine of the Show at a gala function in Wellington last night.
The wine also won the Champion Pinot Noir Trophy at the awards function.
Judges described the wine as complex, round and rich.
Grasshopper Vineyard is situated at the southernmost latitude of the wine growing areas of Central Otago.
