What is your hobby?
I don't have one particular hobby per se, and this is because I have the concentration of a gnat, and if something does not hold my attention for more than a few minutes, I am over it. I love reading, and always have at least a stack of 10 books to be read next to the bed. I started cross stitch three years ago, a bookmark, which I loved doing. Then I got fed up with having to change the thread colour every few minutes. The only thing I have continued to do for over two years continually is Vibra Train. I have never thought of it as a hobby, but if I don't go I actually miss it. So I guess it is in a way.
Why did you choose that?
I did not choose it, it chose me! I had to get fit to do the Sovereign Harbour swim in just a few months, and had the energy of a sloth and the fitness level of a doughnut. So I started doing Vibra Train, as I had never done it before, and I will try most things once. It was so hard at first that I actually thought I was going to die, but after two years, and Lloyd Shaw encouraging me to go every other day, I reached a fitness level I never thought possible. My mind and body love it.
What do you enjoy about it?
I enjoy the fact it is only 10 minutes every other day. It is intense while you are doing it, but once you stop you are not sweating like a sumo wrestler and out of breath. My trainer Lloyd abuses me when I slack off, and I find that funny in a way. I answer him back and we banter, but I do respect his taking me on and getting my health to where it is today.
Is it expensive?
Vibra Train is not expensive at all, cheaper than a gym, and you can pay as you go, so you do not have to sign your life away. When I am overseas I am not paying for not being there, and that suits me.
What do your friends and family think about it?
Family and friends think it was one of the best things I ever did. Vibra Train is open till 10pm in the week, so I can always work around it. It is also absolutely necessary after all the Christmas feeds I go to.
