New York's Algonquin Hotel plays host to a cat fashion show every year in honour of Matilda, a stray who made the fancy hotel her home in the 1920s.
The Algonquin has kept a cat on staff ever since - they are now up to their eighth Matilda, and are onto their third male cat, all of which have been called Hamlet. The staff cats enjoy a life of luxury while playing an ambassadorial and customer service role for the hotel.
This year's fashion show was uniform-themed with outfits inspired by the city's police and fire departments provided by animal fashion designer Ada Nieves. Proceeds from the show went to the Mayor's Alliance for NYC Animals.
