Kiwi actress Emily Barclay is the star of Suburban Mayhem which will screen at the Cannes International Film Festival next month.
Barclay who plays the lead role of Katrina is best known for her performance in Brad McGann's In My Father's Den. For that she won best actress in a leading role at the 2004 NZ Film Awards, and most promising newcomer at the British Independent Film Awards.
Suburban Mayhem is a sexy black comedy about a 19-year-old single mum who will stop at nothing to get what she wants. When her father threatens to take away her baby she plots a plan to wreak havoc on the community.
The film opens at local cinemas later this year.
