Canadian child calls police on parent after being served a salad

A 12-year-old boy from Canada called 911 not once but two times after being served a salad.

The incident reportedly took place on Tuesday in Nova Scotia.

According to a release by the Halifax District Royal Canadian Mounted Police, authorities were called twice by the boy after he was served a salad by a parent.

After the first emergency call to 911, the child reportedly called again a second time while police was on their way. He wanted to, once again, stress that he did not like the salad he had been served.

Police in Halifax responded to the call and even talked to the boy about his dislike of salad but also gave him some information about why he should not use emergency services for that kind of situation.

"While many can relate to the dislike of a salad at times, this raises a more important issue that warrants discussion at all ages," Dal Hutchinson said in the statement.

"The improper use of 911 is an issue with all age groups and it ties up valuable resources, preventing emergency first responders from dealing with real emergencies."

Also, take it from a former salad hater: salad is not that bad.
