There are many logistics to consider when planning a proposal but one that is often forgotten about is the state of the person's nails who is being proposed to.
This is the problem one woman from Melbourne faced when she hadn't had a manicure before her boyfriend got down onone knee.
Twitter user @goodgaljenjen shared photos of how she saved the day at her cousin's engagement by offering up her own hand, with its perfect red nails, for the announcement photos.
"My cousin's boyfriend proposed to her but she didn't have her nails done," she said.
The first photo is the one the newly engaged couple uploaded for the world to see and the second is the reality behind-the-scenes.
"There is a lesson here. When a person is ready to propose, you must make sure that your partner's hands are in a condition that also says 'I'm ready'", one person said.
Commenters also shared their same anxieties in regards to not having a manicure done before being asked the big question.
Some said that those who are going to propose to their partner should pay attention to the state of their nails.
"So men take note of your ladies hands and make sure her manicure is worthy of that ROCK," one person wrote.
"My husband suggested I pamper myself and get a manicure the night before he proposed. I should have known something was up," said another.
