A couple's plan for a dolphin-assisted birth has drawn scorn and danger warnings from experts.
Adam and Heather Barrington from North Carolina believe the dolphins will bring "peace, comfort and strength" during the birth.
But biologist Christie Wilcox says: "This has to be one of the worst natural birthing ideas anyone has ever had."
And she points to evidence that dolphins "toss, beat and kill small porpoises or baby sharks for no apparent reason other than they enjoy it".
The birth will be at the Sirius Institute in Hawaii, which wants to 'dolphinise' the planet. There won't be a dolphin midwife but Mrs Barrington will join the animals in water before and after the birth.
