MTV isn't the only channel gearing up to celebrate local music. C4 premieres Live At Yours on September 8 at 9pm, a show with a slightly misleading name given that it's pre-recorded.
Hosted by Joel Defries, the show will pick up where Top of the Pops left off, only this time it's all local, giving established and emerging Kiwi musicians the chance to perform in front of a studio audience at the Transmission Room.
The first episode has the Bleeders and PNC, the second Che Fu and the Tutts who will perform their own material and a cover voted for by C4 viewers. You'll be able to ask the musos questions on the C4 website.
Next month also sees the launch of the channel's new face, Shavaughn Ruakere, (What Now?) in her new gossip slot, Meaty (Music, Entertainment Around Town). Each night between 5.30pm and 9.30pm, she will present four two-minute segments live on C4 with international and local entertainment news. Meaty starts September 11.
