KEY POINTS:
Peter "The Mad Butcher" Leitch doesn't mince words on his new business advice show A Mad Business coming to TV One next year.
Millionaire Leitch and Mad Butcher chief executive Mike Morton toured New Zealand during the last couple of months troubleshooting at "dysfunctional companies".
"Some of them might not like what we tell them because we tell them the truth," said Mr Leitch.
His sense of humour - "which might not be everyone's cup to tea" - is featured.
Mr Leitch, who has 30 stores around the country, said he brought "gut feeling" to the show, while Mr Morton brought administration skills.
Even before filming Mr Leitch was often approached by people seeking business advice. "People would ring me and ask me for advice. Because of the high profile they think you're some sort of whiz kid," he said.
"At the end of the day, to my credit, butchers shops have closed and I've stayed in business."
He said the enterprises the pair visited, including a boutique hotel, were run by genuine people who had not gone about business in the right way.
