It was time for a catch-up over something more substantial than a cuppa, but this cafe celebrating a cup sounded just the ticket. Being a midweek day, we got a table with ease.
We liked the decor - red being the focus in the paintwork - particularly the little butterflies from which red cups were hanging on the back wall.
The menu offered interesting breakfast options of the "feel good "and the "keep fit" but the more decadent lemon souffle pancake ($14.50) won. My friend was keen to try the gluten-free version of eggs benedict ($18.50). The pancakes came with orange segments, blueberry compote, maple syrup and mascarpone, topped with a strawberry. Yum. The eggs benny came with a "florentine" option of roasted tomatoes and mushrooms, served on an agria rosti and the eggs were poached to perfection.
The coffee was espresso workshop brand and quite fine. We were surprised not to be served red cups, however, it was a glass for the latte and a white cup (red saucer, though) for the cappuccino.
