The menu boasts the most exciting list of smoothies and juices we've ever seen, and that's no surprise, given Greenleaf Organics have been picking up steam among clean living circles since they kicked off a range of fresh-delivered cleanses last October. Last month, brother and sister team Sarah and Mike opened this brand new Kingsland cafe, including a list of ever-changing, organic meals.
The look is minimal and hip. Enter through a garage roller door off New North Rd into a room with a couple of scattered beanbags, and an inviting space for four-legged friends. Inside we admired the polished concrete floors, blond wooden benches, hints of pastel and geometric furnishings by Design Ministry.
The food is always changing, but we both opted for the $12 breakfast plate featuring baked beans, three slices of a massive fresh tomato, a tasty house pesto, avo and organic sourdough - a really good, wholesome bang for buck.
The coffee is a great Allpress Organic blend. But if you come here you have to pick a smoothie. They're all listed on the wall, featuring ingredients and intentions with affirming names like Aloha, Amethyst, Moon, Fern and Lotus. We went with Bohdi ($8.50 for 120ml). It was a smooth, easy-to-drink blend packed full of goodies like almond milk, kale, banana, chia seeds, date, plant protein powder and lemon.
