The menu is a mouthwatering eco-friendly mix of vegetarian and meat-loving options with a bit of a twist. Vanilla risotto, for instance, with plum compote and toasted pistachios ($15) or the always tempting Wolfe lentils with crisp potato hash, organic pork and fennel sausages, mushroom, poached egg and hollandaise ($19.50). There's also a selection of sandwiches, panini, croissants and baked goods to lure you at the counter.
The look is an eclectic space with mismatched school chairs and decorative pieces hung around the interior. The wall-to-wall windows offer an ideal spot for sun soaking and people watching.
The food was good all round, although I admit to food envy after a taste of my friend's Egyptian dukkah poached eggs with spicy chorizo and feta ($18.50). I couldn't go past the haloumi on the menu - in this case mixed with zucchini and herbs in light, fluffy fritters with fresh greens and mint yoghurt ($18.50). I would
recommend adding the bacon as suggested ($6.50).
The coffee is organic roasted Kokako beans, which are very pleasing. Federal & Wolfe are also legends on the juicer, serving up a fruit and vegetable options in jam jars. We recommend the zinger - a tangy combo of apple, pear, lime and ginger. Check out the list stencilled on the wall.
