This gem is on the second floor of the fabulous Bloc store, which is home to some of the city's top design brands including Citta, BoConcept, Father Rabbit, WorldBeauty and many others.
The breakfast menu comes in two different formats - Build a Bloc or Prebuilt. This is rather exciting but also confounding if you can't make a quick decision.
The look is pretty minimal, but you're surrounded by such gorgeous things that it has to be, really. There are a couple of communal tables - one high, with bar stools - and several smaller ones. At the back of the cafe is a sunny room with more tables.
The food is fresh and tasty. We opted for the build-your-own menu: a poached free range egg ($3), handmade hash brown ($4), truffled mushrooms ($5), wild rocket ($2), caper dill mayonnaise ($2) on mixed grain ($4); and scrambled eggs ($5), oven-roasted vine tomatoes ($4), and rocket on handmade crumpets ($6). It's a bit more expensive this way but gives you more freedom to tailor your meal. Portions are huge and well presented. The counter food - sweet treats, wraps and sandwiches, salads and muesli - all looks really good.
