Address: 30 Benedict St, Eden Tce
We came here because Benediction is an old favourite and we hadn't been in ages as it's a little off the beaten track for us these days now we live in the 'burbs.
Parking was easy enough on the street outside - we know from experience that it's not always this simple though as it's a busy part of town.
We walked in and immediately thought not much had changed since our last visit - even the staff looked familiar. The two-storey cafe has most of its seating upstairs in a roomy, comfortable area with plenty of magazines and papers. It's slightly annoying to have to order off the blackboard in the narrow downstairs counter area when it's busy, but we can live with that.
The most unusual thing on the menu was either the red flannel hash with potato, garlic sausage, tomato and poached eggs ($17.50) or the Balinese sticky rice with seasonal fruit and coconut cream, topped with palm sugar ($10.50).
