As voyeurs across the globe looked forward to the prospect of a Britney Spears / Kevin Federline sex tape appearing on the internet, the former couple are set to come together to deny its very existence.
Reps from the divorcing couple told TMZ this morning that the pair would unite one last time to release an official statement, to put paid to the rampant rumours.
Since Spears filed divorce papers two weeks ago, a flurry of reports emerged saying Federline had a sex tape of the couple and was planning to hawk it off to the highest bidder.
A second round of reports then claimed Spears was considering giving away the tape for free, to prevent her estranged husband profiting from the sale.
The joint statement is expected to be released later today.
