Brides share their ultimate wedding day disasters

We've all heard of the Bridezilla: an unreasonable monster who will tear down anything that looks to stand between her and the perfect wedding. But even the most tyrannical of brides can't always stop things going wrong when the big day finally arrives.

From a dream dress accidentally binned on her wedding day, to a priest who uttered the wrong name throughout the entire service, brides have taken to internet forums to share their ultimate wedding day disasters.

One bride revealed on Reddit that she forked out several thousand pounds for her dream designer wedding dress. But when she went to slip into it on the morning of her wedding, it was nowhere to be seen.

She soon discovered the hotel's maids had mistakenly thrown it away. By the time the bride worked it out, it was nowhere to be found in any of the hotel's waste rooms.

The distraught bride was forced to find a replacement from the local bridal shop just hours before she was due to walk down the aisle.

Another bride had the wind blown from beneath her wedding wings when she enlisted a priest who called her the wrong name throughout the entire ceremony.

"The best man kept trying to correct him but I think he was partially deaf," she wrote.

Another disastrous wedding saw the groom's parents show up halfway through the ceremony, without an explanation.

One bride admitted to getting so carried away with the champagne that she ended up vomiting all down herself.

To add insult to injury, her best friends - who were engaged - broke up.

Another woman shared what's likely every bride's horror story, explaining how her groom's ex-fiance showed up at the wedding.

She wrote: "She grabbed the wedding cake, chucked it at us and began screaming how he was a deadbeat while she grabbed table-wine bottles that she smashed on the ground."

One bride told the extreme tale of her friend being punched by her husband-to-be, saying "My friend got punched in the face by my groom because he decided that my mate was 'taking too many photos.'"
