A festival aiming to raise the profile of women writers, directors and dramatists has begun in Sydney.
Female playwrights will be reading from the play The Colour of Glass as part of a series of events.
Playwright Katherine Giovenali has taken up residence in a perspex box at the Circular Quay in Sydney, where tourists watched her take notes.
