Boromir (Sean Bean): The eldest son of Denethor the Steward of Gondor at Minas Tirith in the south, he travels to Rivendell to find an explanation for a dream about "Isildur's Bane".

A proud warrior, he believes the ring should be used to help bring down Sauron by military means.
