Agnes Nieuwenhuizen, director of the Australian Centre for Youth Literature, State Library of Victoria, an internationally acclaimed reviewer, commentator and authority on teenage reading and literature, will be visiting New Zealand next month to participate in The Children's Literature Foundation of New Zealand's 11th Storylines Festival.
She will be one of the panelists in the Heritage Storylines Literature Seminar Series, along with writers Garth Nix, Margaret Mahy and Sherryl Jordan, discussing Fantasy: The Crossover Genre.
These will be held at Westpac St James Theatre, Wellington, June 15; The Heritage, Christchurch, June 16; and Auckland Art Gallery, June 17.
Nieuwenhuizen will also be taking a workshop for adults: Teenagers Need Stories: Why? Which Books? & How to Talk about Books, one of a number of workshops for adults and children to be held at the Edge, Auckland, on June 19.
