Storylines: The Children's Literature Foundation of New Zealand is delighted that its patron, Joy Cowley, was the recipient of the A.W. Reed Award for Contribution to New Zealand Literature at the recent Montana Awards.
Cowley, who herself had difficulties learning to read as a child, has written more than 400 stories enjoyed by emergent readers world-wide, as well as a range of excellent picture books and novels. She has also travelled extensively, particularly throughout the United States, holding writing workshops for adults and children.
