Is there a young writer in Year 7 or Year 8 in your family or among your friends?
Get them to check out the writing programme, Nestle Write Around New Zealand Nestle Tuhi Amio Whenua 2004, which has just been launched in each of the 10 zones throughout the country.
Sponsored by Nestle and supported by public libraries throughout New Zealand, this programme not only offers a competition for a short story of 500 words in either English or Te Reo Maori, but also the opportunity for 4000 students to attend one of the series of free creative writing workshops held in public libraries across the country by published New Zealand children's authors.
Competition entry forms are available through schools with Year 7 and 8 students, public libraries or online. Entries close August 31.
